Welcome to the STLS Beginning of Year (BOY) Training. This training is mandatory for all STLS Advocates and Liaisons.
This full-day training equips school teams with the legal knowledge, practical skills, and district updates needed to support students experiencing housing instability.
What We Will Cover:
Legal Foundations & District Policy: Understand the federal McKinney-Vento law and the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) STLS Policy to protect your students' rights.
New Mandates: Learn about new requirements, guidelines, and updates for the upcoming school year.
Real-World, Real-Time Strategies: Get practical, everyday strategies you can use immediately to support students in transition.
School Team Networking: Connect, share ideas, and build relationships with other school teams across the district.
